SANDERLING
Calidris
alba
During the fall and winter season
when you are most likely to observe Sanderlings on Bonaire,
they are a pale, ghostly gray on top and white below with black
legs and bill. Watch for them on the beach, running quickly
back and forth as the waves come and go. They also sometimes
roost on docks and boats. In flight, watch for a broad, white
wingstripe.
